Accessibility at HPDS

HPDS aims to make its website, digital resources, and inquiry processes usable by people with diverse abilities and assistive technologies.

Target standard

HPDS aims to follow WCAG 2.2 Level AA principles, including keyboard access, clear structure, visible focus, readable contrast, labelled forms, and reduced-motion support.

Measures built into the site

  • Semantic headings and page landmarks
  • Keyboard-accessible navigation and controls
  • Visible focus states and logical reading order
  • Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images
  • Labels, instructions, and error-ready form structure
  • Responsive layouts and readable colour contrast

Ongoing improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing responsibility. HPDS intends to review new content, forms, videos, and downloadable resources as the website develops.

Media and documents

Videos and downloadable resources are reviewed for captions, meaningful titles, readable structure, contrast, and keyboard usability where applicable.

Known limitations and requests

If content or a process is not accessible, contact HPDS to request a reasonable alternate format or communication method.
